I took a trip with A2Z last fall in rural Portugal. There were a few of the usual mishaps associated with fast dirt riding - a few scrapes and bruises - but everything that was in our guides' control was perfect; hotels and transport were all ready when we needed them, and man the meals! We had breakfast and dinner provided, and many were upscale buffet style - endless piles of beautiful veggies, beans, fish and meat. Wine, too. Lunches were a joy, also. Our guides always knew of the best little cafe to stop at for a beer, sandwich or coffee. Riders who got tired were welcomed to ride in the van the remainder of the way. There was no pressure to tough anything out, and by the end we were all friends. Definitely a company I'd recommend. - A. Bland, San Francisco

The port wine bike tour through the historical villages of northern Portugal was superb. Our guides accommadated our every request, the meals, either in our hotels or in village restaurants, were outstanding and the owners always wanting to know if everything was perfect. This was the best active vacation ever! It was some fun & challenging mountain biking for a week through beautiful villages and castles and rural areas of Portugal. The staff at A2Z Adventures was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Spain was our third experience with A2Z. Portugal and Argentina made the other two. Although each trip had a different atmosphere we enjoyed all of them. A2Z had not let us down in the past and it was no different here. In trips like that, the interaction with the guides is a critical element and i think it is A2Z's main strength. Nuno, Martinho, Tiago, Jaime, and the 2 Pedros were born to guide! They can handle most of the weird situations that surface in these contexts given the extensive interaction that people are subject to. Our trip was excellent. The route we had chosen was suitable for our group with respect to length for each day and the altitude profiles. The organization of our trip was also good with beautifful surroundings and interesting hotelles with new setting every day. I will never forget the the old medieval fortress Obidos and the accommodation. We may have been happy about the timing as vel, seen the midsummer eve, the São João in Porto and the dancing in Nazare. In adition we had nice weather. A group of us tour the Alto Alentejo tour with A2Z self guided during the fall of 2011. I have taken 10 bike trips over the years and found A2Z service above the rest. I had asked for a trip with little to no traffic, small unique hotels and quaint villages. A2Z delivered on all it. We stayed in unique places including a Pousada and a Convent. The roads had very little traffic. Directions and the GPS were perfect and we never got lost. A2Z gave us a phone and checked up on us nightly to see how things were going and tell us about the ride the next day. I would highly recommend A2Z! They were awesome! - Karen, Boston, MA
